Kunstnerforbundet

Institution

Kunstnerforbundet is an independent, artist-run institution with an emphasis on exhibiting contemporary art and crafts from across the country. Established in 1910 by emerging artists, Kunstnerforbundet is one of Scandinavia's oldest artist-run exhibition spaces, organized as an idealistic corporation. Today 150 contemporary artists are associated with the gallery as shareholders.

The entrance to Kunstnerforbundet's gallery has stairs from street level, although we can help with wheel chairs, prams and strollers or other up the stairs. The gallery is over two floors, available only with a staircase. The entrance to Atelier Kunstnerforbundet is on street level, but the studios and the Loft space on 3rd and 4th floor are only available by a staircase. Folding chairs are available for visitors.
