We close the reading group for summer with a bang, with Mierle Laderman Ukeles’ Manifesto for Maintenance Art 1969! In the manifesto, Ukeles asks: ‘after the revolution, who is going to pick up the garbage on Monday morning?’ This is a short and fun text that continues to inspire many, including UKS’ director Miriam Wistreich. She hopes it will inspire you too!

The manifesto can be found here: https://queensmuseum.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Ukeles-Manifesto-for-Maintenance-Art-1969.pdf
