A new publication from Torpedo Press explores how free play in contemporary art can challenge norms, resist constraints, and inspire new ways of thinking. At the centre of this investigation is the work of artist Shahrzad Malekian, who has spent the past decade using play as a key element in their practice.

With a conversation between Elke Krasny, Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, artist Shahrzad Malekian, Jari Malta, curator at Fuxia 2 and Collega in Copenhagen and curator at Stavanger Kunstmuseum, Helga Nyman.
The conversation will be moderated by curator and editor of the book, Ida Højgaard Thjømøe.
