What do health and modern architecture have in common? In this exhibition, artist Espen Gleditsch seeks out the origins of modern health architecture, from the Finnish forests to the Swiss Alps. The exhibition was created for Villa Stenersen and contains 20 new photographs.
Gleditsch has investigated sanatorium architecture as a precursor to modern architecture. Through the photographs, he explores the space and the surroundings in which sanatorium architecture is located.
The abstract ideas and historical influences that are the background to the exhibition emerge as concrete experiences of light, humidity, sky, sun, wind and nature in his images.
This is the first time that Villa Stenersen is included in a tailor-made artistic context, where the house itself becomes a direct part of the exhibition.
