Author Sigbjørn Skåden in conversation with curator Liisa-Rávná Finbog about Sámi art as a space for new ways of understanding the world.
The conversation is inspired by writer, and recipient of The Nordic Council Literature Prize, Sigbjørn Skåden's text on John Savio's woodcut Jompa and the Wolf, written for the exhibition catalogue. Moving between the voices of the wolf and the human, Skåden's text explores a relationship marked by both intimacy and conflict, mutual dependence and competing interests. At the same time, it addresses how colonial interventions, land tenure policies, and changing ways of life have transformed fundamental relationships in Sápmi between people, animals, and the landscape.
Ticket includes admission to the exhibit arera.
