Snø Galleri is honoured to take part in Oslo Negativ 2026.

We will bring together works by Danish artist Trine Søndergaard and Chinese artist Zhang Dali. Both series unfold as dialogues between past and present.

After returning to Beijing in 1995, Zhang Dali witnessed old alleys and neighbourhoods disappearing amid rapid urban transformation. Through his Dialogue and Demolition series, he entered into conversation with the city and its inhabitants, while questioning the human, historical and cultural consequences of modernisation.

Trine Søndergaard’s Hovedtøj series turns towards historical garments and traditional textiles that have gradually faded from collective memory. Through her images, she brings forgotten forms of female knowledge and experience into the present.

Placed together, the two series speak of disappearance and preservation.
