In recent years, Larsen has been exploring the idea of a series without an end or fixed limit. This idea refers, among other things, to On Kawara’s date paintings, as well as to something as simple as one day following another—similarly structured, yet always different.
What interests Larsen is the possibility of creating a series with a clear compositional framework while allowing for an infinite number of variations. The Latin word Perennis means eternal or perennial.
