Taterlandet is a celebration of the culture and craftsmanship of the Tater/Romani people, one of Norway's national minorities. What does it mean to convey the story of a people who took pride in not leaving any lasting traces? And who almost had their entire culture erased by the Norwegian authorities? What does it mean to inherit this history, both for Taters and "buros" (non-Taters)?

The exhibition Taterlandet takes place both at Nitja and Guttormsgaards arkiv in Blaker and will present a number of new artistic productions, open workshops and an extensive program of events.

The project stems from a collaboration between Elias Akselsen and Ellef Prestsæter, who is the artistic director of the Guttormsgaards arkiv.

The exhibition is realized in collaboration with Guttormsgaards arkiv and with support from KORO and Arts Council Norway.
