The Inspire Art Award is initiated by PRIO (The Peace Research Institute Oslo) in collaboration with Nitja, springing out from PRIO's research project Inspire. The intention of the project is to highlight artists who link their own experiences of war and violence to artistic practice, and to connect these artists across barriers including nationality and geography. The project is international and interdisciplinary, encompassing visual art, dance and film.
