Infra-active

Marte Eknæs
  • Open until 17:00

In her practice Marte Eknæs challenges boundaries between art and context and asks what role art can play in contexts inside and outside the art space. Art as a tool for participation, disruption, and transformation is central to her practice. Infraaktiv delves into the hidden and visible infrastructures that surround us, to find strategies for possible changes in society, especially in the face of the climate crisis. “Infra” means below or beneath. Infraaktiv is thus not an exhibition about infrastructure, but rather a shift in perspective. By focusing on what is hidden in our surroundings and considering the underlying as an integral component, Eknæs allows the artworks to infiltrate the institutional framework, the public space, and the municipal bureaucracy. A program consisting of courses and lectures is part of the exhibition to raise awareness about how our surroundings are defined and share strategies for change.
