Cancel Culture Club & Spa is a performative project centered around conviviality, community and solidarity, gathering artists, art workers, scholars and activists from across the Nordic region and beyond. CCC&S is a platform to exchange, analyze and critically engage with the phenomenon of widespread cases of censorship, attacks, and intimidations against artistic practices situated at the intersection between emancipatory politics, institutional critique and solidarity movements. The project appropriates the term “cancel culture” as a form of satire, self-critique and political commentary. By subverting the use of the term, we aim to dissect these cases, refine our strategies, and sharpen our tools of resistance. CCC&S is articulated through an exhibition and a six-day symposium with interventions, workshops, film screenings, lectures and a series of in-depth case studies, accompanied by sauna sessions. The symposiums are divided between a public program and a program by invitation.
