Support Structures

  • Open until 17:00

Support Structures is a large international group exhibition that will take over the whole building to explore how care, support, community, learning, and relationships form an indispensable part of life and of any creative practice. In light of Kunstnernes Hus' role as a support structure for art and artists for nearly a century, all participating artists engage with different forms of bearing structures—whether social, emotional, functional, or architectural. Emphasizing relationships rather than discrete units, the exhibition’s works will occupy both galleries and interstitial areas, dissolving conventional boundaries between craft, industrial design and art; form and function; and between the frame and the work of art.
