At the foyer at Kunstnernes Hus, you're met by the work Jesse Owens Wonders Whether the Opposite of Gravity is Freedom (2022) by Ayo Akinsete.
The triptych is made up of three images generated by texts that were altered over three weeks by the artist in dialogue with a machine learning algorithm. The algorithm is designed to classify, find patterns and make informed decisions. The process resulted in three images of the American athlete Jesse Owens overcoming hurdles.
