Cinema: The Little Sister

Hafsia Herzi
  • 18:00
    19:45

Fatima is seventeen and the youngest in a French-Algerian family in the suburbs. When she leaves home to study philosophy in Paris, her world opens up — she dates, makes new friends, and takes her first steps into adult life. But when Fatima discovers an attraction to women, she finds herself caught between her religious upbringing and the person she is becoming.

Hafsia Herzi's newest film is as much a story about growing up as it is about coming out. The Little Sister is Herzi's third feature as director, and premiered at Cannes, where it won the Queer Palm and the award for best female performance.
