The film is set in a small community in the Bukovina mountains of western Ukraine. Leonid returns home from working abroad to his family to celebrate the winter holidays. His wife asks him to stay home for good, and his son Nazar won't let his father leave again. In a desperate attempt to stop his father from leaving, the boy tries to burn his passport - but accidentally starts a fire.

The film premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival in the Directors’ Fortnight program and was screened at numerous international festivals, including Karlovy Vary and Rotterdam. It won Best Film at the Molodist International Film Festival in Kyiv and received several European awards for cinematography and direction.
