Nouvelle Vague takes us back to Paris in the 1950s and shows in a light and playful way how the French New Wave emerged. We follow the headstrong Jean-Luc Godard's filming of Breathless, at a time when young filmmakers were rebelling against the establishment.

Director Richard Linklater creates a fictional behind-the-scenes story where we experience 23 days of chaos, improvisation, frustration and play in the streets of Paris. As a pre-film, the one-minute Homage To Leo The Lion is shown. It was made by the Norwegian artist Marianne Heske, who has been allowed to play with MGM's iconic lion logo. Both films celebrate the art of cinema with affectionate looks back at film history.
