Welcome to the screening of Grand Theft Hamlet, a film about two unemployed friends who, during the pandemic, decide to stage Shakespeare’s immortal classic Hamlet within the chaotic universe of the well-known video game Grand Theft Auto.

The screening will be followed by a conversation with Joakim Johansen Østby, Senior Lecturer at UiO and specialized in representation in video games, and Andreas Nilsen Ervik, media scholar and artist whose research areas include performativity in digital art.

The screening is free and organized in collaboration with master's students from the Screen Cultures program at the University of Oslo.
