Ingrid Ogenstedt was inspired by Oslo's proximity to the forests, and the smells and qualities found here. Ogenstedt prefers materials such as moss, clay, bark, and tar. These are materials that we all know yet which in Ogenstedt’s hands are transformed into architectural and ambiguous forms with seductive textures and surfaces. The forest is an alternative space in which we become attentive of our bodies and senses, a sensation which Ogenstedt wants to translate into art through non-verbal storytelling. The sculptures Reva III and Jordskott both have titles alluding to something organic and in motion. They are voluminous, alive, and temporary, and draw parallels to the history of humans as creative beings and the imprints we make in nature. The body is central, both as a carrier of forgotten knowledge and as a sensory apparatus with the ability to trigger tactile memories.
