1:00 p.m.: Official opening of the Lillebet Foss Museum
With the horse Daltron and saxophonist Rolf-Erik Nystrøm
3:00 p.m.: Daltron leads the way to Blaker Skanse and the opening of Wenkai Xu’s exhibition Year of the Horse 马年.

Lillebet Foss (1930–2017) was on first-name terms with all the animals in the zoos of Europe. She could be spotted walking the streets of Cairo and Baghdad with her drawing materials, in Sri Lanka and Bulgaria, in a nursery in Økern, and at most of the provincial museums of Anatolia. Even after she developed dementia and had forgotten what it meant to be an artist, she continued to draw. Almost exclusively horses, as it turned out. Perhaps they were horses from the summers of her childhood, or from the caves of Lascaux; perhaps the extinct Lofoten horse was among the herd. What is certain is that, after the turn of the millennium, horses the likes of which the world had never seen before began to appear at the nursing home on Silurveien in Oslo.
