A gust of wind wakes us from our slumber

Inuuteq Storch, Henrik Saxgren, Julie Lauritzen, Marius Eriksen, Størkersen T. Størkersen, Peter Wessel Zapffe

FRAKT invites you to a Nordic family therapy session in the final exhibition of the year, featuring four artists, a polar explorer, and an uncompromising existentialist: Inuuteq Storch, Henrik Saxgren, Julie Lauritzen, Marius Eriksen, Størker T. Størkersen, and Peter Wessel Zapffe.

The exhibition title is inspired by Eriksen’s response to the Norwegian environmental and existential philosopher Peter Wessel Zapffe (1899–1990) and his ideas. Eriksen presents the series "Et Stormkast Vækker Os av Dvalen", which explores Zapffe’s philosophy and photographic archive. Inuuteq Storch's "Keepers of the Ocean" and "Anachronism" tell stories of his own country —unlike much of the history of Greenland. Danish photographer Henrik Saxgren shows excerpts from "Ultima Thule", documenting the hunting culture of northwest Greenland. Julie Lauritzen’s "An Arctic Epic" presents a collection of previously unpublished slides from the Arctic, taken by Norwegian polar explorer Størker T. Størkersen.
