Fotografiens Hus presents Together, Apart. The exhibition brings together two projects that explore the human body and its physical and mental connections to nature: Dear body I’m sorry by Anna Fabricius and KROPP/BODY/CUERPO by eso malflor.
In KROPP/BODY/CUERPO, eso malflor creates and documents human-like forms made from natural materials within the landscape of Nevelsfjord in Northern Norway. Inspired by the silhouettes of performance artist Ana Mendieta, the project explores connections between body, nature, and belonging.
In Dear body I’m sorry, Anna Fabricius presents a series of analogue photographs in which bodies merge with one another and with nature across different environments: snow, stone, sand, and forest. Fabricius challenges socially constructed attitudes towards the body in order to present an alternative perspective.
The exhibition opens with a performance inspired by the exhibition, with dancers Catharina Vehre Gresslien, Julie Mjønes, and Mia A. K. Marthinsen.
