Towards the Light

Josefine Lyche, Emanuel Vigeland
  • Closed

With the exhibition “Towards the Light”, Lyche invites the public to quite literally see Vigeland’s art in a new light: Here, elements from Vigeland’s pictorial universe have been released from the fresco and materialized as entities, nine muses, floating along the walls.
In Emanuel Vigeland’s complete work “Vita”, there is no external landscape, only bodies squeezed between life and death, light and darkness. Lyche directs our gaze towards a lesser-known but perhaps more hopeful Vigeland, with a landscape of calm, light and soft colors.
The exhibition is supported by BKV and the Bergersen Foundation.
