Light with a wavelength of 660 nanometer is situated at the mid of the red part of the visible spectrum; the reddest red that can be perceived by the human eye. In light therapy this very nuance of red is often used for its capability to penetrate the surface of the skin and stimulate the production of energy in the cells. For the exhibition Spleen Heart Liver Lung, Vilje Celin Kern Vestenfor has colored BO’s space with this red light. Intertwined with the sound of running water, text, and sculptural elements, it emerges as a multimedia installation that challenge the experience of time and space. The visitors are led into an achronical context, a waiting room, but even here time passes despite appearing as still.
