Assumed Assumptions (Records of Reality)

John K. Raustein
  • Closed

Welcome to the season’s first exhibition with John K. Raustein at Bærum Kunsthall.

Opening hours: Thursday-Sunday 12-5 pm

In the exhibition Assumed Assumptions (Records of Reality), John K. Raustein (b. 1972, Stavanger) explores the many expressive possibilities of the textile medium, with a particular focus on perception, memory, and the tactile as a carrier of both personal and collective experiences. Through abstracted and monumental installations, he allows the material to convey layered narratives, drawing from his own experiences as well as broader societal themes such as queer identity, marginalization, and the environmental impact of the textile industry.

Free family tour every Saturday at 2 pm and open children's workshop every Saturday and Sunday from 12–5 pm.
