Homeland: Iraq Year Zero (2015) is a durational documentary film in two parts directed by Abbas Fahdel. The film spends endless hours with the daily life of a young Iraq boy and his family before the US invasion in 2003. We live with them, watching television, traveling on Euphrates, visiting ruins and bazaars, and drilling a pit in the back garden. The second part of the film shows the aftermath of the invasion and the impact it has on the lives of the same family and the broader Iraqi society.
