Through the exhibition “Splitter naken/Stark Naked”, photographer Pål Hansen explores a naturist community in The UK. Here he asks the question: What are we being protected from when we cannot see a body for what it is?
Through his work as a photography journalist in England, Hansen came across the naturists. The image series “Splitter naken” started as two projects for the papers “Observer” and “You”, where he set out to photograph this community in all their glory, however without directly showcasing their genitalia. This made room for thoughts and discussion; When does nudity become sexual?
